Why Abstinence Education? ...it's a lifestyle, not a contraceptive with a failure rate. It covers every area of life.
...education from the inside out!
Abstinence Education is the platform used by TST to reach youth and their families with truth that remains constant in spite of pressures created by the changing morals of society. Thought shapes behavior, so, it’s critical that students be given the opportunity to examine what they know and believe: “Where does truth come from? “Why is truth important?” “Who decides what’s right or wrong?” “Does it matter what I believe, or, use to make decisions?” “Why is abstinence important to me?” Inquiring minds want to know, “Why wait for marriage?” With thought-provoking presentations, TST demonstrates the way in which an abstinent lifestyle is the best protection because it isavoiding any attitude or behavior that will harm you, or, harm someone else which eliminatesthe risk of physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual and financial consequences associated with sexual activity outside of marriage. Realistic? Actually, many young people embrace this message. For 15- to 17-year-olds, the most recent survey found that 68 percent of boys and 67 percent of girls had never had sex, 2006-2008. For the broader range of 15- to19-year-olds, well over half – 54 percent of females and 55 percent of males – chose not to have sex. These teens deserve any support that we can give to help them maintain their commitment. While realizing the conflicting challenges of the "ideal" and the"real", abstinence remains the only 100% way to protect and preserve your heart, mind, body, personal goals, your present and future families, and the welfare of your community.
Thoughts become words, words become actions, actions become habits, habits become character, and character influences destiny.
