I gave up my virginity. What now?

God loves you and it's never too late to start over!

We call it "Secondary Virginity".  You can't change the past,
you can't change what has happened in your body, BUT,
you CAN change what you do from this point on. Think
beyond the moment and think about your future and your
future mate and family. They will thank you for waiting.

If you made the choice to become sexually active you
can start over and take control of your life. Make
changes in relationships, in where you go, what music you
listen to, what videos or movies you watch, and instead,
focus on what will increase more positive outcomes in your
life, like your education, safe and healthy fun, service to others.

If it was not your choice to engage in sexual activity, the first
time, and you were raped or molested, that was not your fault!
Please remember that you are priceless and you have worth
and value. You do not have to "let it all hang out" and begin
to have a lot of partners. That will increase your chances of
becoming pregnant or contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

If you need help...

  1. talk with a parent or trusted relative.
  2. visit your doctor so that you can receive testing for STDs.
  3. seek out a Christian pregnancy center.
  4. never act in a desperate frame of mind.
  5. pray to the Heavenly Father, seeking His forgiveness and strength.
  6. receive God's mercy and grace as you make changes in your life.
  7. read the scriptures for comfort and guidance.

Yep, God talks about sex in the Bible...He made it!!

"Prayers for Bobby"-A Christ-centered response.

In our approach to fellow human beings struggling with sins of every kind, and in our interpretation of scripture to address these sins and struggles, please remember two very important points that is evident throught the scripture:

1) God is Love
2) God is Holy

There's a certain tension between these two sides of truth that Jesus embodied.  Without the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives we can not walk in the balance of this truth. We tend to gravitate toward one or the other and do much damage in the process. Fear keeps us from speaking the truth in love, while harsh expectations based on legalistic performance can cause well-intentioned ministry to drive people away.

It's about relationship not rules and regulations!

Both, love and holiness are  essential to relationship. Love looks out for the good of another. Holiness does the same as it seeks to follow the path that God has chosen for those seeking to walk in close relationship with Him and with others.

First, our love for God is expressed through believing what He has said about Jesus-that Jesus Christ is God's Son and that only by accepting His sacrificial death, can we enter into relationship with God.
No man comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6-I am the way, the truth and the life).
Be careful that we do not follow a God of our own making. What a bummer! (Romans 1:18-24)

Secondly, our love for God is then expressed by walking in holiness-His character and ways.
Holiness sets itself apart from evil and self-seeking ways and thinking. Someone walking in holiness simply desires to please God out of his or her love for Him...not out of fear or pride. And, seeks to demonstrate God's love for others.

*****

Our approach to persons struggling with homosexuality, and any behavior or belief that is outside of God's character and will, should follow that of our Lord Jesus-
the truth He spoke was motivated by pure love; love for His Father and love for mankind. However, neither fear nor condemnation moved Him to sacrifice or compromise love or holiness. Neither can we.

John 3:16-21

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through Him.

Romans 12:1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.

1Th 2:13

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing,
because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us,
ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God,
which effectually worketh also in you that
believe.

****
Whatever you are struggling with, God's word will provide direction and encouragement for your situation. God is the final authority on what is right or wrong, and, what is true or man's creation of truth.
The Holy Spirit of truth must be alive in your heart and life in order to guide you into all truth as Jesus promised.
Ask Him to come into your heart and life and fill you with His love, holiness and truth.

****
And remember, there's always hope.
